You have to rewrite this quite drastically to make it read well. I suggest "straitjacketed by sterile academic formalism". I would ignore "production" and "impasse".

stuck (in a dead end)
Hello
My reason for proposing "stuck" is due to what follows (a dead-end of some sort). As you cannot be "frozen" in a dead in, the choice perhaps depends on how you are going to translate "impasse" which was not actually part of the question but could have been included perhaps.
