Spanish term

no vencible

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Autopsy report
Hi all,

I came across this term in an autopsy report in the "exámen externo" section:

I'd be grateful if you could offer any suggestions!

The report was issued in Spain and is for a UK audience.

Thanks for your help!

Spanish term (edited): fase no vencible
Selected

complete rigor / rigor is complete

Entire body rigid, complete rigor
Entire body rigid, rigor is complete

The Stages of Rigor Mortis
According to the Medicolegal Death Investigators Training Manual, there are six stages of rigor mortis in humans. Their stages are:
Absent
Minimal
Moderate
Advanced
Complete
Passed
If you're working as a medicolegal death investigator, these stages would be combined when completing examinations. The four combines stages used in the field are:
Absent
Present (minimal, moderate)
Complete (advanced, complete)
Passed

Usually, perceived stiffness in motion of a joint is “mild ”, difficulty requiring force to move a joint is “moderate” , and having to use great force is “complete” rigor

The body will be in complete rigor in 10-12 hours and remain stiff for another 24-36 hours at the same environmental temperature.

It then becomes noticeable in the larger muscle groups such as the elbows, knees, and neck. It becomes fully fixed in six to 12 hours. After the fully fixed stage, it will work its way out of the body in the same order,

neutral Thomas Walker : "Cataleptic" may have a meaning related to the meaning we're looking for here, but the term "cataleptic" is used almost exclusively in reference to psychiatric or neurological conditions.

neutral Roberto Amparán : This translation is overgeneralized since it only describes the complete stage of rigor mortis. In this case, we are looking for the particular state of being "no vencible" in the complete stage of rigor mortis.

[the rigor present] cannot be broken

This refers to the complete stage in the process of rigor mortis where it is impossible to move limbs. This can be reversed by "breaking" a limb, for example, with movement.

The idea is that the rigidity is complete and the rigor is in an unbreakable state.

Rigidity is complete and [the rigor present] at this stage cannot be broken.

I appreciate the effort but disagree again: "Rigor mortis was present consistent with his found position and breakable with significant force in the upper extremities but unbreakable in the lower extremities." See above.
