agree  David Hollywood: with "shielding" gets my vote...don't really think it is and perfect

  -> I think 'reinforced armour' for 'blindaje incrementado' sounds fine, as is, in this particular sentence. If an additional word is deemed necessary (for whatever reason), 'shielding' or 'protection' may be viable options. Thanks, David!
