Italian term or phrase: risultato estetico
about drawing clothing

Nel dipingere i panneggi, infatti, non è necessario riprodurre tutte le pieghe che si scorgono sul vero: basta farne una scelta, sopprimendo le pieghe minori e secondarie e tracciare solo quelle significative per il risultato estetico che si desidera ottenere.

It must be exhaustion after going through rivers of words .... but why estetico? what does it add to the sentence?

aesthetic effect(s)
Explanation:
more than result, I would rather say 'effect'

For example, from wiki
"Some aesthetic effects available in visual arts include variation, juxtaposition, repetition, field effects, symmetry/asymmetry, perceived mass, subliminal structure, linear dynamics, tension and repose, pattern, contrast, perspective, 3 dimensionality, movement, rhythm, unity/Gestalt, matrixiality and proportion"

disagree  Tom in London: I read this comment, and disagreed with it. "Aesthetical result" would mean something along the lines of "the result inasmuch as it relates to aesthetics". I had already suggested "aesthetic result"

neutral  writeaway: I'd stick with the Italian. risultato (sorry about the absent-minded misspelling) is result. Don't agree with change just for the sake of change.
