Spanish term

VENTA POR CUENTA AJENA

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Internet, e-Commerce EDI, CFE, new regulations
URUGUAY. This appears to be a concept specific to Uruguay. I'm wondering if there is a specific set expression already established for this in English. I assume it means "sales on behalf of others" but it seems a bit of a mouthful...

Adolfo Fulco Aug 22, 2015:
Then... Then "third-party sale" would be the better option:

third-party sale
Dictionary of Business Terms for: third-party sale
sale made by an agency acting as an intermediary between a buyer and a seller.

Dictionary of Marketing Terms for: third-party sale

@Helena When I posted "it seems a bit of a mouthful", I meant that it seems rather long compared to the more succinct Spanish version. "Brevity is the soul of wit" ...
Adolfo Fulco Aug 22, 2015:
I think... we pressed "enter" at the same time.
Helena Chavarria Aug 22, 2015:
How about something along the lines of 'sales on behalf of/for third parties'? Or 'third-party sales'?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks everyone for helping out. I'm using both "3rd party" and "on behalf of others"at different points. This text is a nightmare and the people who sent me it are on holiday so I can't check any terms with them until Septemberm when no doubt they'll resurface in an almighty rush..."

sales [transactions] made by others

Not entirely sure if this suits, but definitely an alternative to consider.

Great, Neil! Si usas ambas formas me parece mejor todavía. Saludos!
Note from asker:
"...it seems a bit of a mouthful" = me parece muy largo.

Thanks, Michael. I think so, too. Cheers!
neutral philgoddard : Not "operations". Wendy was the first to enter the correct answer.

I would say "sales operations", phil. Yeah, but I was writing and looking for references, so I didn't see that she already answered :).
