Source text - English We should not be surprised that the New Testament writes speak in this way. Jesus said, ¡°Go, make disciples, baptizing the in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.¡± By Jesus¡¯ own definition the Christian lie is a relationship with one whose name is three-fold. To be a disciple is to be immersed into, and with, the three-foldness of the living God.
As we have seen, the church arrived at this mind-stretching faith because it was trying to make sense of the facts: (1) God¡¯s self-revelation and (2) the Christian experience. And here is what I want to stress the most: Even without all the ¡°traces lf three-fold-ness,¡± we would probably end up with something like the doctrine of the Trinity. For what really triggered the theological process was what ordinary people experienced when they encountered Jesus Christ.
¡°When the disciple saw Jesus they worshipped him,¡± if there is a scandal in the Christian faith, it lie not in the doctrine of the Trinity but in the believer¡¯s response to Jesus: worship. The phenomenon occurred before his post-resurrection appearance on the mountain. It began when he was just a baby in Bethlehem¡¯s stable. Tough, rugged shepherds; sophisticated, educated wise men could not help falling on their knees before the infant Jesus and adore him. Was that right to do? The phenomenon occurred after Jesus¡¯ post-resurrection appearance. Around 112 A.D. the Roman governor Pliny observed that Christians gathered together early in the morning on the first day of the week to sing hymns to Christ: ¡±as if to a God.¡± Was it right for these early Christians to do that?
Translation - Korean 우리는 신약의 저자들이 이렇게 이야기 하는 것에 대해서 놀라지 말아야 합니다. 예수께서 말씀하셨습니다. “너희는 가서, 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아서, 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 주고…” 예수의 직접적인 정의에 의하면 기독교인의 생활은 삼중의 이름을 가진 그분과의 관계입니다. 제자가 되는 것은 살아계신 하나님의 삼중성안에 그리고 그 삼중성과 같이 빠지는 것입니다. 예수님 자신의 정의에 의하면 그리스도인의 삶은 ‘삼중’이라는 이름을 가진 그분과의 관계입니다. 제자가 된다는 것은 살아계신 하나님과 함께 삼중성 속으로 함께 침수되는 것입니다.
우리가 살펴보았듯이 교회가 이 상상을 넘어서는 믿음에 도달하게 된 것은 1) 하나님의 자기 계시 그리고 2) 그리스도인의 체험 등의 사실을 풀어보기 위한 노력에서 비롯되었습니다. 그리고 여기에 가장 강조하고 싶은 점이 있습니다. 아마도 삼중성의 흔적이 없었더라도 우리는 삼위일체 교리와 비슷한 것에 도달했을 것이라는 사실입니다. 이 신학적 과정을 시작하게 된 것은 다름이 아니라 예수 그리스도를 만난 보통의 그리스도인들의 체험이었으니까 말입니다.
