Latvian to English: Saldus Guide | |
| Translation - English Saldus is as a drop of honey in the Courland! It welcomes every time with a sweet surprise: is it valleys of bright yellow dandelions and sunny smiles in the spring, or refreshing by the Ciecere River in the heat of the summer, with the sun “you can break like warm pieces of brown bread” in the autumn, or in the winter with warm and cosy cafes where you can enjoy delicacies of the town.
Saldus has found its place in the lowland at Saldus Lake and the Ciecere River. The Ciecere River flows like a serpentine trough the town, conserving a wide green area in the town centre and creating lovely places to rest. Over the years the rhythm of the town has complied with the flow of the river - in the spring and in the summer it is quicker and more playful but in the winter and in the autumn it is calmer and steadier.
