Powwow Report for Czech Republic - Prague (Dec 4 2003)

Our Get-together on 4 Dec. 2003 was mainly intended to bring together those many translators based in Prague who do not usually meet in person. I managed to have 19 translators & interpreters attending. Many of them are not only members of ProZ but also from Czechlist, Preklady and Svepomoc which are discussion forums (on yahoo) for Czech language professionals. We started at 6pm and the last attendees left the venue at 11:45pm. To me it looked like there have been initiated some cooperations and lots of business cards have been exchanged so we expect to have an improvement in our communications. The hottest topic discussed on various levels was the differences, pluses and minuses of the various CAT Tools available and the their presence in the Czech Market. All in all I would say that it was a very relaxing and well received pre-christmas event, everybody really enjoyed.
