Cannot Start LocStudio 6.12

I have a problem with Microsoft LocStudio: When I try to start it, I get an error message saying, "Error: The Operation failed: "" Followed by a message saying that Microsoft Localization Studio has stopped working.

Has anyone had a similar problem, and how did you manage to solve it?

The program worked fine some 3 months ago and I haven't (as far as I recall!) made any changes on my work computer since then.
