: I'm with Judith. I don't think literate translation will work here, whichever synonim of "master" you select. Our job is to capture the meaning, not words, and I think Judith captured perfectly what Solovyov meant here.

: Could not agree more. The phrase means not that truth is coming to its senses and 'masters' or 'gets a grip on' reality, but becomes that reality. We have the luxury of the full sentence and must use this, not translate bits in isolation.
