English term

$30k versus $30m

English to Spanish Bus/Financial Finance (general)
I understand that k refers to "thousand", but what about m? I found it could stand for "thousand" but also "million", is that right?

Discussion

I see your point, Chris... but I guess we have two options, then: how come Millions can be expressed by "MM" or a single one? We are given both options, then, acording to "thefreedictionary"... this is confusing.

have a nice day!

Romina - not to be stubborn, but your own second link says "M" is the ROMAN NUMERAL 1000 (second item), but the fourteenth item says M=million...

Salu2

30 mil versus 30 millones

m is always for million and k is always for thousand

$30K = $30M = $30.000 (treinta mil)

$30K = $30M = $30.000 (treinta mil)

"m= metro" y "mm = milímetros"

http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/MM
