It' may be inappropriate to complain about the source text, but here we can see irrelevant and rather inapplicable use of word "одушевление" by the author, due to general misunderstanding of this term (as well as the related process).

It may not look like 'translation' here, and yet PERSONAL EXPERIENCE was perhaps meant (but not expressed) here.
