When I try to export my memory from within WFP, the file extension is jtx. Why not tmx? For tmx I have to use WFC?

Have you tried this?

"To export a Translation Memory from WFP:

- Make sure that all your translated segments are committed to the TM by pressing Alt+End; now all the segments should appear in Violet (colour) or by cleaning-up the TXML file updating the TM.
- Go to Translation Memory (menu) > New/Select TM
- Click on Export (button)
- Form the *Local TM* dropdown menu, select the TM you want to export.

Exporting WordFast Pro TM as TMX Apr 19, 2011

If you need to export your TM as TMX from WordFast Pro go to Translation Memory | New/Select TM, then select your TM to export and click on Export. In the dialog box, make sure that the Export Type is Translation Memory eXchange and then select the location where you want WFP to export the TM as tmx and type in a name for your exported file.

Hope this makes sense.

That's what I do Apr 19, 2011

but the only thing that is created are jtx-files. (Translation memory exchange). When I chose Local TM and select a filename, the extension becomes txt. So filename.tmx becomes filename.tmx.txt.
Strange.

.jtx is the index file of Wordfast Pro (like .itx is the index file of Wordfast Classic). It already existed on your disk if you have been using the TM in Pro. It was not created when exporting the TM to TMX. The file created via the Export button gets a .tmx extension, as one would expect.

Also in 2.4.2 Apr 26, 2011

I just installed the newest version and tried again to save a TM as tmx. The same bug persists. When I chose export and the Exchange box and select the filename, I box appears and asks if I really want to overwrite the existing file (tmx). When I click yes the box disappears but the filename field is empty.

This is no big deal, because I can use WFC for this purpose.
The new version starts very slowly compared to the previous version.
