Has anyone participated in an ATA Webinar as a non-member?

In the future I´d like to become a member, but now I´m interested in one of the webinars they offer. Do you think it is a good idea? Do you obtain an accreditation or certification?

Does any other translation association offer webinars, online courses, seminars or conferences?

Thanks in advance

ATA webinars as member Jun 12, 2012

Hi Cristina,

I'm an ATA member, and I've participated in some of its webinars, just because the topics were interesting to me. As far as I know, you don't obtain any certification or accreditation (unless you are a certified member, but I'm not sure about it).

Another international association that offers webinars on different topics of interest for us translators or interpreters is IAPTI (International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters) . You do

Hope this information will be useful to you!

Best,

Credits only available for certified members Jun 12, 2012

I am fairly certain that what Gabriela indicates is correct: that any "credits" (i.e., CEUs) are only given to Certified ATA members (i.e., they count toward the 20 CEUs which must be acquired within each three-year period following initial certification, in order to retain said certification).
