What sad news to wake up to.
My first ever Kudoz points came courtesy of Jack back in 2008.
A true loss to the profession and to this site, where he will be sadly missed.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, I come across him on Proz.com several times. My sincere condolences to his family during these difficult times. I know what bereavement is like, it is terrible.
Anyway, hope the heavens open up and welcome a great translator!

for the whole community, and especially, for us, translators, working with Russian. Jack was among a few native English speakers who actively participated in Kudoz. As Alistair pointed out, he was a role model for us. Highly professional.
