Thanks for sharing the news about these TMs, Anne.
Having Appendix II in TM format is really important because it ensures consistency and correct use of SOC headings.
I created my own Sp>En version a couple of years ago, but for anyone who hasn't done it, this new resource is a great help.

but now I can just point attendees to your new resource! ▲ Collapse | | | Thank you Anne | Apr 7, 2014 |
Unfortunately, I have encountered a problem in importing the English-Italian TM, because it says "The TMX file cannot be processed since an unknown TMX attribute was encountered".
I have tried both in Studio 2014 and 2007, but I got the same error.
Did I make something wrong?
Great support! With kind regards, Eveline

Might be a known problem | Apr 7, 2014 |
Dear Bruno,
this might be a problem with Trados, we have seen it before. We used a SDL tool to create the TMs and they work fine in Studio 2011. They also load fine in Olifant. I'll try Trados 2007 and Trados 2014, but I won't be able to get back to you tonight.

... this information, Anne.
However, I downloaded the English into French TM and when uploaded in Wordfast Classic, the TM is empty!
Is Trados mandatory to open these TMs, which are under .tmx format?
Best regards,

As I already mentioned, the TMs were created using a SDL tool. After creating the TMs each individual TM was opened in Olifant to check it. - They are not empty. The lesson we are learning here is, that the TMX standard seems to be less a standard than expected.
We are currently investigating what can be done, to make these TMs (and the hundreds of TMs that are still in our pipeline) usable by more tools. It might take some time, as we also have some other work to do and finding a solution that can be applied to batches of files will require some research and testing. If anybody knows a solution, just let us know, we do appreciate any input. ▲ Collapse
I found a workaround.
Loading the file in Olifant and saving it under a different name, produces a file that can be loaded in Trados 2007 (but not in Trados 2014).
I than opened the file in an editor and deleted >segtype=""< in line 3 (the header). This file could easily be converted in Trados 2014. The files now also work in Wordfast Classic.

We are now updating all files (>500) and will start making them available asap.

We changed the production workflow and our tests suggest that the files are now working in the above mentioned environments. We were not yet able to test them in other environments but will do so in the future. If you have problems opening/using the files, just let me know. This will help us to improve them further.
