1. The offer is too good to be true.

Any business person wants terms that favor them (lowest possible rate, payment deadline as distant as possible etc.).

2. It is difficult to check the person.

Business is based on trust. Honest business people are transparent and make it easy to verify their request is genuine (e.g. all the contact details are mentioned in the signature; sometimes even the business registration number is included);

Business is based on trust. Honest business people are transparent and make it easy to verify their request is genuine (e.g. all the contact details are mentioned in the signature; sometimes even the business registration number is included);

3. The request lacks specifics.

When someone requests a service from a professional and wants a quote, he/she will want to make sure the service provider perfectly understands what is requested from him/her. If attaching the document in the initial message might not be an option, a lot of details on it are expected to be included (e.g. number of pages or words, field of specialty, desired delivery day etc.)

Generally, professional business people are courteous and to the point in their messages.

I find the above particularly fitting, as it may also apply to how individual 'professionals' use this site for instance, how they introduce themselves, and how they behave/interact over time during their permanence here.

As to your other itemized 'insights', I do not think they are particularly wisdomy. Or pearly, either.

Thanks so much for shedding such an incandescent light on an issue that has bedeviled me for many years.

I remember this guy Jun 25, 2021

Except he wasn't a "new user" last time.

Preached cheek turning, re-negotiating completed (!) job invoices to lower prices to incentivize late payers, etc., between bouts of SEO copywriter-style "content" posts of pseudoarticles of vague platitudes

Back then, there was a fringe conspiracy theory that we were talking to a beta test of a content creation AI.

He was a paid member then. Why a person pays an annual fee of 150 USD for trolling on forums is beyond me. He can apparently afford 'good lawyers' too.
