Hi
It is my first topic in here.
I have Trados, version 6.5, installed on a pc and Wordfast, version 5, installed on a notebook.
I want to know if I could have both installed on the same notebook?
Thank you

Yes, you can (at least technically speaking, I don't know the license terms for Trados 6.5 - if it can be installed on more machines at the same time if you plan to use it on both PC and NB).

You Should Feb 28, 2009

It makes sense to install both Trados and Wordfast. At least when you work in Word and have a problem with Trados you can at once continue in Wordfast and vice versa. You just close the one and open the other toolbar.

In Word, they are all represented by DOT-files.

By default, they are installed into their own folders or into Word start-up folder (see in Tools... Option... Paths...) and load at start-up.

You should place them to any other but the start-up folder, hook them up from Word (Add-ons menu), and disable by default, because their macros are mutually exclusive. The idea is to have them visible in the list of add-ons, but disabled.

Then, depending oh the task at hand, just go to "Add-ons and Macros..." menu and tick the one you need from the list.

Trados and WF close each other's toolbar on launching (they have the same tag markup).

Logoport may close Trados as it has the same short-cuts, but will not close WF.

Logoport's markup is not like that of Trados and WF.

Yes, I have both installed (now in my Windows Vista, previously in Windows XP) and both run very well.
