Good guys do not win all the time Jan 22, 2018

Amidst the hectic competition in the translation business, some rely more on the attractive presentation of their service without having a good service in the first place. When shopping most people opt for nicely packaged items (compared to ones with less impressive packaging) without necessarily having tried them previously.
This can happen in the field of translation as well.

Not only translators. This applies to any and all professions and activities. You either learn how to "sell yourself" or your success is very limited.
But marketing goes way beyond publicity or advertising. You don't have to advertise. But networking, referrals and word of mouse (Cris) are also means of marketing.
