Best Regard,

When I asked for information about him, first he ignored the question, and then he just said "I am a private freelancer not a company".

Then I asked for advance payment, he agreed, but mysteriously disappeared

I thought I'd post this here. Best wishes!

Alain

And if you received this email via Translatorscafe, why are you posting it here at Proz and not in Translatorscafe?

Thanks for the warning, Alain! May 3, 2013

It's great to make everyone as aware as possible of the activities of these dishonest people, who as we know all too well work across many different platforms.

Hi Alain, and thank you for the alert May 3, 2013

Actually, it looks like this "new" scammer isn't new at all: the wording of this email is the same as in the messages of a "Maria Brown" the correspondence with whom has been described in details at http://tinyurl.com/clfxu98 - it is classic overpayment scam.

Please add the name used by the scammer to your initial post.

Natalia

As far as I know, naming competing sites is against the ProZ rules May 3, 2013

http://www.proz.com/rules/

"Advertisements ... Discussion of sites offering competing services is also prohibited, due to past abuse."

I think that is what Walter is objecting to, without specifying the precise cause. This is an old rule that I happened to remember. If you just change the name to "another site", you should be ok, otherwise your post may very well be hidden or removed

Personally, I'm ok with it, but it is not my website, so the owner's rules apply.

Naming competing websites is allowed May 3, 2013

Hello,

I just wanted to point out that naming competing websites is allowed in this context. General rule #3, http://www.proz.com/siterules/general/3#3 , in in place to prevent the advertising and discussion of other websites, but naming them is allowed.

Hope this explains. Please let me know if you have any question.

Best regards,
Alejandro
