Hi! I work from German to English and have just got a job from a French agency. They\'ve issued a purchase order in French and it says:

Nb mots: 19,000

HT Euros: EURxxx.xx

What do the Nb and HT stand for? Does it indicate source or target?

Thanks

Gillian

Hi Gillian Feb 11, 2003

Nb stands for number and HT is Hors-Taxe which means VAT not included.

Cheers !

Nb means number (number of words)

HT Euros means amount excl. VAT

No indication of whether source or target ▲ Collapse

Nb: number of words

HT Hors-Taxes (not including VAT)

It doesn\'t indicate source or target (but how could it be target if they know the number?)

Thanks everyone! Feb 12, 2003

I appreciate your help. I studied French at school for 10 years but it\'s rusty and doesn\'t stretch to abbreviations.

Thank you!
