It wasn't sure after just one text, so it had me read a tongue twister as a second text, and then it guessed Dutch. It's difficult to fake a native accent with a tongue twister.

OK, this is kinda fun. 
Got it right the first time. I guess my Indonesian accent is thick enough for the robot to identify.

I think my accent is very hard to guess, this is the third time I've tried and the robot says 'I couldn't hear you properly. Please try again.'

An issue with my speakers stopped me from doing this, but the truth is that in one of my attempts the robot said I must be very special because it couldn't detect my accent.

Yes indeed. What is even more surprising is that the first time it was able to identify that I was a native speaker of English, but not where I was from (which I thought was disappointingly lacking in ambition).
The second time round it lost it completely.

Likewise for me.

I'm a native Brit, originally from the west Midlands (Staffordshire). I wouldn't expect it to get that, but I would expect it to be able to tell I'm not American or Australian.

The robot detected my accent as 100% Japanese. Awesome!
However, there were other possibilities,
Japanese 100%
Chinese 0%
Swedish 0%
I can understand that Chinese was one of the candidates, but Swedish???
Why the heck did the robot choose Swedish as one possibility?

When it offers to distinguish your accent, I thought it would be more specific, at least by country if not by region. I'm from the southwest region of the U.S., with what some would call a "non accent," or nuetral. I also make an effort to enunciate clearly (after learning how to do that in choir in 7th grade--clearly enunciating vowels and consonants, not slurring).
