It's only because Google knows it's you doing the search.
You won't be on anyone else's front page.
Go into "private browsing" and try it again.
If, against expectations, you're still on the first page, you're clearly wasting yourself on translation - as I think you already know - and could usefully embark immediately on a new career in SEO.

I can confirm that George appears on position 15 or so (from 21.5 million hits) when I search for "Translator UK" on Google (google.de by the way). Quite impressive. Share your secret ...

OK, so top 6 on "Translator UK" in quotes, a phrase surely nobody would ever search on, but nowhere to be seen without the quotes.
Even then I imagine some kind of payment must be involved?
But I do now know where to go if I ever need a transaltor.

I don't see what's so good about being on the first page of Google search results for "translator UK" if you're an individual translator. It strikes me as an excellent way to receive lots of irrelevant enquiries for languages you don't translate from and specialist areas you aren't familiar with.

I understand your philosophy, you use every part of this site for marketing purpose, for being remembered by any reader.
However such marketing activities may create opposite effect when you are doing it among your business competitors (those posts are read 95% by translators but not companies).
So I suggest to perform such activities in other places like LinkedIn Groups, Facebook Groups, industry specific forums or sites.
Here your annoying rate will be more than 70% because you are among your competitors. And competitors await humbleness among each other.
In specific place like I told above, your irritation rate will be less than 30% and that may bring you a lot of income.
Just a suggestion.
