please read the Forum Translators4kids the history and everything is explained there. The website is http://www.translators4kids.com. Yes that would be great if you could contact them but you have to ask the authority of the children for permission.

As I understand it, what you are needing now is not translators, but actually people to help gather submissions from underprivileged children to be published in the book, correct?
Do you have a campaign poster of any sort? To get word out, maybe put posters in strategic places, the posters would include:
1. Short explanation of the project

So perhaps when people are asking underprivilaged kids to write something, and they are not quite sure of what to write, we could try giving them some kind of guidelines, eg:

thanks for those valuable thoughts. However, I think that asking children to answer such questions would be too direct, i.e. a child could get blocked when told to realistically recall the difficulties of his/her life. I believe we need an intermediary form to encourage them to express themselves.
Besides, I believe we don't need to amaze prospect readers with how bad the world is. Instead, I am convinced we should be looking for a quasi-artistic form for the project.
Moreover, I think most of our prospect contributors may simply be unable to answer such self-reflective questions.
Again, these are only my opinions, and I hope no offence will be taken by anyone:)

It is not my project idea. I am a volunteer working as a Collection Team Leader trying to help Translators4kids in their project to collect stories.
I do appreciate your offer very much to make a campaign poster, with a step by step guide.
I am a bit unsure though if people would download it, print it, and publish it on different places.

See Eliza, Translators4kids already exists for quite awhile but honestly not even a half of the volunteers read the postings nor the newsletters and so on, or even had a look at our website. This is why I am a bit discouraged and want to make things as easy as possible.
If you think that this would be a good idea please go ahead. The only one who should profit on this are the children so if you think it works than please go ahead and let me know and I will send you more info.
Of course there must be guidelines for certain things and there is, but I will only take the initiative to let people have a closer look inside if I think that they are very serious. Otherwise it takes so much time of mine to answer peoples e-mail and in the meanwhile most is already posted.
Like for example in my earlier posts I have written that I have different kinds of presentations which could be shown (and again I am repeating myself) to different organizations or representatives of the children, but truly Eliza there were only 5 people from all who posted who asked me to send them a presentation in their language.
So this just shows me that it is very difficult task to promote this project. And I mean what better spot than this is there. It is called Translators4kids.
I apologize for my English and do not want to offend anyone.
As for the writing guidelines. The only suggestion I have is to be as sensitive as possible as outlined in Krzysztof's posting in the last thread called

First of all I would like to apologize to you for the above posting, were I have basically complained that most volunteer do not read the postings thoroughly enough and which has absolutely nothing to do with you. It has something to do that we all have to work but try on the other hand to do something good on our sparetime which is sometimes very spare (-; my response to your helpful posting was not aimed at you but rather myself being unorganized in my thoughts. Absolutely, I understand what you're saying... I was just saying that when people, including children, are stuck for ideas or have 'writers block', sometimes a 'writing prompt' can help us open up and get the creative juices flowing. That's all

No need to apologize, I understand your frustration- I have worked in similar projects in the past and encountered the same issues. I suppose most people just dont have the time to read through hundreds of posts and open up a few dozen links on the way! (I am one of the guilty parties I am afraid sorry... I also wish to apologise for the fact that I did not realise that the guidelines/ prompts for childrens writing had already been discussed on another thread...
Anyway, thus my suggestion of a simple campaign poster. You are correct- there is a possiblity that people may not bother to print it off, etc, but anything is worth a try right? It will be something that people who are out and about can see, they only have to read one page, and can immediatly act on it, rather than trawl through pages of postings, only to become confused and decide, 'nah, too hard, cant be bothered'....
Just my opinions...Hope my post does not offend
PS: I think somone already mentioned this, but the link to 'book project' on the T4K website is broken...
