A France-based agency is refusing to pay me and several colleagues. They are just ignoring our emails. Does anyone have any experience in collecting payment from a French agency? Send them a formal call for payment via registered snail mail, return receipt requested. This isn't just a notice that they're in default but rather an unambiguous request that they pay up within a set deadline. If necessary, follow with a final call advising that you will need to take legal steps for recovery if the money is not in your account by such and such date. If you know a lawyer (e.g. a friend, distant family member, happy customer etc.), ask the lawyer to sign, and attach a power of a... Because if you haven't been paid and you make judicious use of the BB, as described in a number of previous threads, it works and it's quick (the OP of the thread to which I posted a link -above- got paid in full *the same day*). A lawyer should be the last resort, not the first resort. That's a general rule in life, actually.

I have recently come across this sad experience as a SEO content editor and translator for a French/UK based company. I have worked for them for over half a year and when I finally delivered a bulky file in many languages they refused to pay. I was in touch with them at a weekly basis through Skype and email and it all seemed fine and dandy until pay day. Their excuse not to pay was that I had to deliver more and more languages before getting the payment, thus, work more months without see... They actually use my content written by me of their products on their site and have the guts (sorry for the expression) to not have paid for it.
