| Are guests REALLY welcome at the dinner? | Sep 10, 2007 |
My husband's thinking of coming to Aix as it's a good chance for us to have a bit of a break. I'd like to bring him along to the dinner if that would work, but I'm not sure it would. I'd really like to see how things go on Day 1, then decide at the last minute whether the two of us will go, or if we'd be better off skipping it.
Will it be possible to get an extra seat at the dinner at the last moment?

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier but we're all on holiday!
Guest really are welcome for the dinner. It's a social evening, and although I imagine that people will talk "shop" whilst they're eating, conversations won't turn exclusively around translation. Part of the fun of a conference is getting to know other people as people, not just as translators, so your husband would be warmly welcome.

Part of the fun of a conference is getting to know other people as people, not just as translators, so your husband would be warmly welcome.
However, we need to tell the hotel how many people will be coming in advance as they obviously have to prepare the meals. Unfortunately, this means that you will have to decide beforehand if your husband would like to come.
My husband isn't coming because he has to work, but if not I would have brought him along to give him an idea of what my work and my "work world" really involves. Obviously, though, it's your decision. ▲ Collapse

Je me suis inscrite un peu trop rapidement à la conférence et je n'ai pas vu qu'il faut vous contacter avant de s'inscrire si on souhaite être remboursé pour une partie de la formation - Est-il trop tard pour faire la démarche?

La responsabilité de ProZ ne pourra être engagée en cas de refus de votre dossier ; je m'engage, par contre, à vous rembourser les frais de dossier (€60) si votre demande de prise en charge est refusée (vous paierez donc dans ce cas de figure le prix normal du congrès).
La prise en charge annuelle par professionnel est plafonnée à 500 € maximum. Vous ne pouvez pas cumuler les montants d'une année sur l'autre ; comme on dit en anglais "use it or lose it".
Si cette option vous concerne, vous devez impérativement me contacter dès que possible AVANT de vous inscrire au congrès pour que je puisse vous transmettre toutes les modalités.

I just paid for my one-day pass (Saturday) and am wondering what the signup procedure will be when I arrive in Aix. Do I just print out my receipt and show that plus photo ID?

You'll need a biometric passport and we're going to take your fingerprints...
Just kidding! You don't need to print out anything--save the trees! You won't have to show ID either. Please just make sure you stop by the registration desk and pick up your name badge.

Bonjour,
Je fais le déplacement à Aix en famille, ça tombe pendant les vacances scolaires et c'est l'occasion de se dépayser un peu - ils feront du tourisme pendant la conférence.
Du coup, j'aimerais amener non seulement mon mari, mais aussi mes deux enfants (8 et 4 ans) au dîner. Y a-t-il moyen d'avoir un tarif / menu enfant ? Comment procéder pour les inscrire ?

L'hôtel offre un menu enfants pour les mois de 12 ans à 12€, avec entrée-plat-dessert "au bon soin du chef et en accord avec les parents" avec eaux minéral.
Pour les inscrire, envoyez-nous un e-mail pour nous dire le nombre de personnes que vous souhaitez inviter. Ensuite, vous pouvez nous payer en liquide en arrivant à l'hôtel.

La, j'ai une petite question. En fait, je suis vegetarienne (legumes+produits laitiers) donc est-ce que tu penses qu'il y aura quelque chose de vegetarien pendant les repas/ diner?
