Aye, nice gifts they are... Dec 20, 2005

But employ them recklessly and thou shalt cause grievous injury to your beloved steed, so step gingerly in this treacherous land of Lord Defrag and the Registry Cleaning Queen...

Merry Christmas,
Pawel Skalinski

Cleaning under Mr. Gates' Carpet Dec 20, 2005

Absolutely - wonderful tool for hoovering out all that gunge that would otherwise remain there 'registered' forever.

Why is the defragger better than Windows?

To be clear, I have been using Jouni's (Juoni's?) Regcleaner for... a long time. I have no particular need for the Power Tools.

After much reading and experimenting, Bill's scissors are pretty far away from the essentials
Windows is customizable. It just requires some time to fiddle with.

The Power Tools especially is an excellent tool, but you need to be careful using it - It is better to ride a listless gelding than a stallion with a broken leg.

Have a merry one,

Better than Norton? Dec 21, 2005

Hi Sven & Co.
For registry cleaning/mending and defrag I’ve been using Norton System Works 2003. Are these the bee’s knees and will knock the chocks off Norton, or no diff?
Thanks
Mac

I wonder whether Norton System Works cleans all the crud out your registry that Norton Anti Virus leaves there when you violently (but correctly) uninstall the latter? jv16 certainly did!

Chris, Sven. Dec 22, 2005

Well, I stopped using Norton antivirus a while back for a much better alternative, so I’ll give these a whirl.
Thanks.

"ranking":
1.
O&O Software - O&O Defrag V8 Professional Edition

2.
Raxco Software - Perfect Disk

Perfect Disk is better, faster and consume least resources, at least in my PC.

But anyway both are better, and makes the job faster than the integrated defragmenter in Windows.
